1. Who we are

The Readout is an AI-focused technology publication operated by Witfy Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"). Our registered contact address is info@witfy.social. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit thereadout.news, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us, and how we use and protect that data.

2. Data we collect

  • Newsletter subscription — Your email address and optional name when you sign up via our subscribe form. We also record topic preferences you select at sign-up.
  • Usage analytics — Anonymised page-view counts per article (no cookies, no cross-site tracking). We store only the article ID and an approximate view count.
  • Contact enquiries — Any information you voluntarily share when you email us. We do not use third-party contact forms.

We do not collect payment details, government IDs, or sensitive personal data. We do not use advertising trackers, behavioural profiling cookies, or social login SDKs.

3. How we use your data

  • Send you our newsletter and article notifications (only if you subscribed).
  • Understand which topics and articles are most valuable to our readers.
  • Respond to partnership, advertising, or editorial enquiries.

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Email communications

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use SendGrid (a Twilio service) to send emails. SendGrid processes your email address on our behalf. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any newsletter email with the word unsubscribe. We will remove your address within 5 business days.

5. Data storage and security

Subscriber data and anonymised analytics are stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS, EU region where available). We apply row-level security, encrypted connections, and access controls. Uploaded images are stored in Supabase Storage with access restricted to our service account.

6. Cookies

We use a single first-party authentication cookie (for our admin panel only) managed by Supabase. Public readers of the site are not tracked with cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising cookies.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email info@witfy.social. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices evolve. The Last updated date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
